Q: I Ordered a Leather Product(s), How Long Until it Ships?
A: Current wait list time for leather items to be made is approximately 3-4 Weeks. This is an estimate that we work towards without sacrificing the quality of individual craftsmanship that goes into the making of each leather item. Please do not contact us about the status of your order unless it has been 4 weeks. We will not have any updates on the progress until the order is completed and ready for shipment. When your order is shipped, you will be notified by e-mail with tracking information. We promise you it will be worth the wait!!
Q: I Choose *Rush Order, under lead time to be made. What does that mean?
A: Wait time for *Rush leather orders to ship is 1-2 Weeks. When you choose the *Rush upgrade option for wait time, it bumps you up on the wait list and speeds up the process greatly to get your item made in a quicker turnaround time. The Rush option only applies to each item where it is chosen. It does not cover any items on your order where that option wasn't selected.When your order is shipped, you will be notified by e-mail with tracking information. We promise you it will be worth the wait!!
Q: Are Pit Bull Gear Leather Products Made in the USA?
A: Yes! All of our leather products are made in the USA. We use real 100% Authentic Leather! Our leather hides come from the best quality leather producer in the USA. Those hides are then used to hand craft your leather items as ordered.
Q: What Colors and Styles do you offer for Leather?
A: You can see what we carry here LEATHER COLOR CHART We have access to a lot of different colors/styles, so if you don't see what you want, contact us and we'll see if we can get it.
Q: What is the Center "D Ring" option on a Collar?
A:The Center D Ring would be a D ring mounted in the center of the collar, in addition to the one that comes with it mounted at the buckle. The Center D Ring allows you to hook a leash to it in order to have the buckle under the chin. Therefore showing off the design of the collar more.
Q: What is the Handle option on a Harness?
A: This is a handle that is attached to the spine of the harness that can be used for hands on control of your dog. The handle will match your harness color.
Q: What does the "Gold or Black Hardware" option mean?
A: If you choose Gold or Black Hardware as an option, the buckle, loops, D Rings, rivets and screws will be the same color you choose (tag rings will also be gold or black if the option is selected to add a tag ring on a harness). Keep in mind what color options are available for spikes & studs on the item you are looking at as not everything is available in gold or black.
Q: Are Pit Bull Gear Leather Products Guaranteed?
A: We stand behind our leather products! If you have a manufacturing issue (does not include sizing) with your collar, harness or leash, please contact us and we will go over the issue with you and try and make it right! Most of our repairs are Free. If it is something due to abuse, improper care, chewing, etc. we still might be able to fix it, but will be charged accordingly.
Q: How do I care for a Name Plate?
A: Your custom name plate is made from Nickel Silver or Brass. It will require maintenance over time to keep it looking brand new.
NICKEL: If your nickel name plate begins to tarnish, use fine steel wool lightly over the top (be careful not to scratch the collar), use a jewelry polishing pad for shine (optional), then lightly dab WD-40 or coconut oil on top.
BRASS: The gold coloring is known to tarnish, or appear dirty, due to chemical reaction caused by air or moisture. This may also cause your name plate to look worn out. If this occurs, simply use a soft cloth to wipe the tag, add Brass Polish and hand buff until you have it looking like new again.
Q: How do I care for the Super heavy Chain?
NICKEL: By washing first with warm water, using a metal cleaner for persistent blemishes, and then polishing, you will keep your nickel/chrome plating strong and lustrous for years to come
GOLD (Brass Plated) Be sure to store it away from water, and if it gets wet to dry immediately. You can clean it by gently wiping with ammonia and wash it off with warm water and quickly drying with a towel. Also you can use a brass cleaner that is designed to be used on brass-plated items. Rub it in with a soft cloth, and wash it off with warm water. Always go gently – don't clean too aggressively or you might remove the plated brass.
Q: Can I Cancel My Leather Order?
A: If you want to cancel a leather item(s) order, we ask that you do it within 10 days of placing your order. Leather items with Name Plates are subject to a $20 fee for your name plate if it has been made already. *No Exceptions.
Q: Do you offer a Military Discount?
A: Yes we do. Please contact us to get your discount.
Q: I placed an order but the site said that my order was declined, but my bank records show I was still charged. Why?
A:If an order attempt is placed and your credit/debit card is declined for any reason other than insufficient funds the funds are “held” by your financial institution until the transaction in question is settled. Transactions are usually pending for a period of 3-5 business days (depends on the card issuer/ bank).
Q: My order will not go through, but I have the funds. Why?
A:In most cases if a transaction is declined (other then not enough funds) it is because your billing information you are entering does not match perfectly with your credit card. Please verify that the billing address you entered exactly matches the one associated with the credit card. If the credit card is still declined, you may want to call your credit card issuer and check to see if they support AVS filtering.
If you are not satisfied with an item please contact us within 14 Days at email@example.com to discuss a return. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.
*Original Shipping & Handling and Return postage charges will not be refunded unless it was our mistake.
Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
Exceptions / non-returnable items
All leather items are custom made to order and therefore returns of these items are taken on a case by case basis. In some cases they can be returned for store credit or partial credit. Personalized leather items can be given a credit of $20 to reuse the name plate on another item in some cases. Certain types of items cannot be returned, like embroidered items, suede products, small harnesses, spring poles, flirt poles, super tugs, decals and overstock items.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.
