PIT BULL / BULLY HEALTH
OVERHEATING - If a dog is over heating you need to keep a cold wet towel on the belly and the anal. On the anal because of the major capillaries and it will help cool a dog down quick. Also keep on hand rubbing alcohol for the paw pads. But be sure the dog is reacting during this time, trying to move around and keep an eye on the dogs tongue and eyes. Putting them in too much ice or keeping them cold for too long can result in the dog going into shock. Also keep the dogs tongue moist with water. Do not try to shove water down the dogs throat though. Check the dogs temperature. A normal temp for a dog is 102. If the dogs temp is less then 99 or over 104, get the dog to a vet immediately. Also check the heart rate. Puppies heart rates are 120 to 160 per minute. Dogs over 30 lbs are 60-120.
